Ceilings
A ceiling color should serve to create balance for any imperfections in a room. It should envelope, lift, blend, expand, bring in natural light and feel warm and inviting. The right color ceiling brings value to the wall color. A warm glow, where the wall color meets the ceiling color and does not stand out where one meets the other is the goal. That way the space feels opulent and helps make the most of the feeling in the room. Generic Builder white is often what is chosen because the ceiling ,”is just the ceiling”, to most painters and many home owners.
Ceilings Make it Happen
The ceiling is actually what makes the room feel grander, and in many cases, loftier, higher, brighter, and upscale. The starkness of a cold builder white defines the lines of the ceiling, making every angle, poor building, structural issues, stand out like a sore thumb. Worse than that, it reflects light back out of a room making it feel cold, dark and poorly painted. No matter how good your painter is, a bad color and type of paint points out all the imperfections in the construction of your home, as well as, does nothing for the wall color you use.
